book NEW SKATEBOARD GRAPHICS

There are many things that I would like to know how to do - without trying, without pain and without looking like a fool. Skateboarding would be one of those things. Unfortunately, it is most likely to win the trifecta for pain, practice and phoolishness.

Luckily, I can channel my inner "duude" with this brilliant skateboard graphic book - the graphics are {enter gargon here} and designed by the talented Midwest Visual Agency.

shop LEIGH'S FAVORITE BOOKS

You can find inspiration in the most unlikely of places. Today, as is often the case, I find it on a stroll to downtown Sunnyvale.

Sunnyvale lies In the heart of Silicon Valley, it's not ritzy and most certainly not hip. But it is a hidden gem, and one that has a small but growing supply of cool shops.

A long time favorite is Leigh's Favorite Books. It has the perfect selection of new and used books. I must admit that I am often swayed by the cover of a book - very shallow - and I have bought my fair share of impulse buy books from Leigh's.

Here's why you should visit the bookstore:
+ it's light and airy as you walk in
+ it's very bookshop-y at the back with wall to wall used books
+ it doesn't smell like grannys attic OR like a cat-lady's apartment
+ for a bookshop it is stroller friendly
+ it's independently owned
+ Leigh, the owner, is lovely

If that's not enough, you can take you new purchases to Bean Scene for a coffee and contemplation.
